Speaking during a function in Mombasa on Monday, a furious Uhuru told off politicians from Mount Kenya claiming he has abandoned the region after receiving overwhelming support in the last general election.

The raging debate was sparked off by Kuria on New Year's Eve when he accused the Head of State of reducing residents in his backyard into voting machines and denying them the much-needed development.

However, during the launch of the Mama Ngina Drive waterfront project, Uhuru hit out at the MP saying he is the President all Kenyans and would ensure development reaches every part of the country.

"I will ensure every corner of this country gets development. That way, these politics of patronage will end so that all areas can grow regardless of where the leader comes from. Kwa hivo hawa washenzi waachane na mimi (let those idiots stop bothering me),” he said as captured in this video.

In a quick rejoinder, Kuria agreed development must get to all regions including Mount Kenya, which he reiterated has been marginalised.

"H.E the President is 100% right. He is spot on. We need development in every corner of this country. It is in that spirit and in line with the President’s position that I believe Mt Kenya region also deserves development just like any other region. Right now it’s not happening," the vocal MP posted on his Facebook page.
