An elected MCA in Kisii County has dismissed claims that he threatened a local who exposed him over the bad state of Mosasa footbridge in his ward.
Bomariba MCA Protus Aramba termed the threatening allegations untrue.
"I have never threatened anyone. Let the person claiming that I have threatened him for exposing the bad state of Mosasa footbridge come out and tell members of the public where did I issue the threats to him," Aramba said at Gesero market on Wednesday.
The former leader of Majority in Kisii County Assembly accused his opponents of plotting to tarnish his name.
He urged rivals to focus on strategies ahead of 2022 instead of spreading lies.
"Locals have a right to correct me whenever I go wrong. Mosasa footbridge is in my home area and there are plans it is constructed. Opponents should stop using locals to achieve a hidden agenda," the MCA stated who promised to facilitate for the construction of a modern Mosasa bridge.
Richard Tungu, a resident who shared photos on social media about the bad state of the footbridge claimed that he had received threats from the MCA.
