Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho was in Busia County on Friday for a fundraiser at St. Clare Butula Girls Secondary School.
Hosted by Busia woman representative Florence Mutua and Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi, Joho came along with a number of political leaders who all drummed up support for the handshake initiative between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“Don’t be afraid of anything because you have a team that is ready and committed to support the building bridge initiative” said Governor Joho as he asked Kenyans to be prepared for a constitutional referendum.

Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir, Likoni MP Mishi Mboko among others accompanied Joho, who seeks to vie for the presidency in 2022.
Governor Joho also said that they are fully behind the fight against corruption and asked Kenyans to support the National Government’s big four agenda.
Busia County Women Representative who organised the event said she will continue to work with more like minded people to bring development in the county.
The area MP Joseph Oyula said Butula has about 136 primary and secondary schools with poor facilities that need support and asked stakeholders to own up their responsibilities to ensure school going children are well catered for.
During the fundraiser, Sh5.8 million was raised.
