Alaine announced the news through her social media page that she has ditched her old ways and now she is on a different path.

The Rise in Love hitmaker was baptized on Saturday 21, July by Ryan Mark of Pure in Heart Ministries International Church in Kingston, Jamaica.

The TV personality and actor expressed her joy at being baptized and becoming a born-again Christian.

“Best Saturday morning everrrrrrrrr!!!!! I LOVE GOD sooooo much!!!! Behold I do a new thing; now it shall spring forth.. shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.(Isaiah 43:19) #BrandNew #WaterBaptized thank you to @ryanmark1 my pastor and my @pureinheartministriesintl family @iamcamilledavis thank you I love you my sister.. #Journey #Givethanks #IsayYesLord #JesusisLord,” she posted.

It is however not yet clear whether she will now switch to gospel music or exit the music industry.

Here are some reactions from Garissa residents:

“God works in different ways. Am glad Alaine is now saved and I hope she will reach out to other musicians who are not saved,” said Gulled Hassan.

“I love her music and I hope she will not stop singing. Now I can’t wait for her to release a gospel song,” Ahmed Adan said.

“After doing a song with Willy Paul, Alaine is now saved. We should not be quick to judge when gospel artists work with secular artists. Maybe God will reach them that way,” said Yusuf Mohamed.
