Some students at Moi University are from humble and poor families. Their parents can't afford everything they need. Students demands are always costly. To meet this, it requires better pay for parents, sponsors and guardians.

 Moi University students who don't get all support they need from parents find ways to fill the void.

These are the simple and hard ways they choose:

Engage in the construction of buildings.

A good number of university students in Kenya today chooses this to earn a small income. This helps them to change their clothes and buy some foodstuff.

Others use the extra coin they earn to pay rent. They normally do this at their free times and over the weekend. During the week, they join their fellows in lectures.

Change eating habits

A number of Moi University students have changed their eating habits to save. These are the eating habits codes for the Kesses-based institution comrades;

Code 111 - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Code 011 - avoid breakfast, take lunch and dinner.

Code 101 - take breakfast, avoid lunch and take dinner.

The students choose the best eating habits favourable for them.

Work online

If you ask a sample of them, they will freely tell you they work with different online jobs. Freelance, online writing, Socialbizconnect, to name but a few.

This pays them something to add what their parents are giving them. It makes life easy and prepares them for the job market.

 Bodaboda and security guards

Some students have got themselves motorbikes. They work with them to get extra cash. Bodaboda is now a paying self-employment job in Kenya.

Being night security guards favours them. They rest during daytime and join their friends at school for discussions.

Now you know how Moi University studentS' hustler group does to survive.

Never starve when you are able to work. Students in this group should not demand more from their parents but try to provide for themselves.
