Led by former MPs Njenga Mungai (Molo) and Musa Sirma (Eldama Ravine), the leaders heaped praise on Raila, hinting at backing him in the 2022 general elections.

Mungai lauded Raila for the 'good work' he has done for the country, saying that the Kikuyu community has finally seen the light in his ideologies.

He noted that the community has cast its confidence in the former Prime Minister, thanks to his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which could result in a union in 2022.

"We [came here today] because of the work you have done for this country. We want Kenyans to know we have discerned where the light is," the former lawmaker was quoted by the Nation.

"We acknowledge your work, Hon Odinga, and I assure you that you are respected in Kenya and that Nakuru people want to follow you to Jordan. We want to assure you and Uhuru that no one can scare you," he added.

However, Raila who has remained vocal even after his 2017 presidential loss is yet to declare his interest in any seat, despite being already seen as a possible presidential candidate in 2022 polls.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss who was accompanied by his wife Ida and a host of area lawmakers on his side assured the nation that his working relationship with Uhuru will remain intact.
