The DP has been battling the 'corruption' tag since he came to power alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013, with opposition leaders implicating him in numerous scandals.

In a tweet on Thursday, Amisi who is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, claimed that Ruto has invaded the system and has been stealing from the taxpayer.

This was after the DP insisted that he will not cease giving contributions to charity as has been his habit during the National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel earlier in the day.

He claimed that though Ruto has a reason to give back to the community as a shoe of his appreciation for God's goodness towards him, he is now using his position to defraud Kenyans.

"I certainly agree with the DP, he got reasons to thank God for giving him an opportunity but he has the opportunity to impoverish his people and defraud them of their taxes,” he said.

During the forum, the DP also defied calls to stop his many church tours, which his critics have termed his new political campaign platform.

“When you see some of us go to church, lift hands, make this contribution it’s because we can’t forget where God brought us from Some of us have more to thank God for, than some of us," he said, according to the Standard.
