Deputy President William Ruto has challenged the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) to provide opportunities to talented students.
Speaking during the National Drama Festivals State Concert at Kibabii University on Friday, Ruto urged KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua to ensure the students' talents are nurtured.
"Mr moral policeman, you are doing a good job but you can get it done better if you can turn these talents into opportunities to these young people," said Ruto.
The DP who represented President Uhuru Kenyatta at the event said Kenya has enough resources to nurture the young talents witnessed at the drama events.
"Nobody should tell us we do not have resources to do this. As the deputy president, I know we have resources," he added.
Some of the performers at the concert moved the DP to tears, as the 60th edition of the Kenya National Drama and Film Festivals came to an end.
Schools that moved the masses with their emotional performances include Moi Primary School Kabarak from Rift Valley, Makueni School with their choral verse, Riara Girls from Nairobi, and Kapsabet Boys with their spoken word performance.
Kibabii University was the host of the 2019 national drama events making it the first university to have ever hosted the festivals which were sponsored by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) under the theme: Promoting moral responsibility among the youths through theatre and film.
