Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has renewed his political fight with Central Organization of Trade Unions (Cotu) Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
In his latest salvo to Atwoli, Khalwale wants the Cotu boss to stop forcing himself as the Luhya spokesperson. He claims Atwoli is bragging that he is the Luhya spokesperson when he is not.
Speaking on Milele FM Drive on Thursday, Khalwale said Atwoli does not have the wisdom to be the Luhya community spokesperson.
“Atwoli is not and will never be the Luhya spokesperson and he must stop parading and embarrassing himself,” he said during the interview.
The former Senator claimed that Atwoli’s behaviour does not allow him to be a Luhya elder or spokesperson.
He added that the Cotu boss will not have a say on how Luhya's will vote in the 2022 general election.
Khalwale claimed that some political forces are using Atwoli to divide the Luhya community so as to scuttle the region's prospects in the 2022 election.
Atwoli has been pushing for the Luhya unity ahead of the 2022 general election
Khalwale has declared his support for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
