The allegations have since landed on four cabinet secretaries who have been accused of holding meetings with other top State officials from Mt Kenya region with an intention of eliminating the DP.

Though Ruto is yet to go public on the issue, after raising it on phone with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti on Monday, the Senate Majority Leader says that the DP appears a little concerned about his safety.

Speaking on Wednesday, Murkomen revealed making such observations during a meeting with the DP earlier in the day, after Ruto brushed-off his (Murkomen's) attempts to get his opinion and the progress of the investigations.

"When I asked him what is this story that you are being sought by the DCI and so forth he brushed it off. But I am now of age, am above 40 years, I see his body language, he is a person who is concerned," he said.

Murkomen made the remarks during an interview on JKL on Wednesday night.

He said that a look at Ruto's security detail and motorcade was another confirmation that something was amiss, observing that the motorcade appeared bigger than usual.

He said that a chat with one of the security personnel handling the DP's security confirmed that some enhancements have been made.

"I also saw his convoy when he left his office, it looked like it was enhanced. I asked one of the security guys where there is another extra car, two or so here and different people I have never seen before and he told me there is some work that has been done," he added.

The four ministers in the middle of the issue are Peter Munya (Trade), Joe Mucheru (ICT),  Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport), who have since denied the claims through Munya.

Three of them on Monday presented themselves to the DCI headquarters, except Macharia who was out of the country, in a case that has also sucked in Principal Secretaries and parastatal bosses.
