In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Mr Alai in eulogizing Bob Collymore pointed out that he always tried out new products at Safaricom for their bad sides.

"Bob Collymore had one peculiar habit. He'd call me whenever Safaricom launched a product, and ask me to "try the product and only tell" him the "worst thing about it" since everyone would be singing praises of the same. #RIPBobCollymore," he said.

Alai's message comes in a day that the nation is in a memorial service of Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.

Various high profile figures will attend the services including President Uhuru Kenyatta. The former CEO of Safaricom passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer.

He was cremated a day after his death.

Various people have come out to eulogize Bob Collymore as a great person, whose shoes will take time to be filled. His position as CEO was replaced by Michael Joseph as the acting CEO.

Mr Joseph is the current chairman of Kenya Airways and a former CEO of Safaricom.
