Former Mandera South legislator Mohamed Adan Huka is dead.
Huka died on Sunday after battling with sickness for a long time.
It, however, remains unclear what he was ailing from.
He passed on hours after he arrived at his home from Nairobi where he was undergoing treatment.
The announcement was made by his brother his brother Mr Abdi Adan Ali.
Ali said that the demise of the former lawmaker is a big blow to the family and entire nation.
“It is so unfortunate and sad that our brother died this morning after returning from Mombasa where he had been undergoing treatment,” said Ali, as Daily Nation quoted him.
The family of the deceased has already started burial arrangements.
The ex-MP will be buried at the Lang'ata Cemetery.
Before he retired from politics, Huka was among the most vocal MPs in parliament.
He will be remembered for defending National Assembly Majority Leader Adan Duale when he was put on the spot to name leaders who were funding the Al,-Shabaab militia.
He was also very vocal when it came to matters of national interest during his tenure in office.
During his term in office, Huka spoke 63 times during the period between March 2013 to April 2016.
Several leaders have continued to send their messages of condolences to the family of the politician following the announcement.
