Deputy President William Ruto addressing the sacking of former Sports and National Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa.
Echesa who has repeatedly declared himself an ally of the DP was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta through an executive order, though the reasons remain scanty.
In an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday night, the DP said its better left to the appointing authority.
In reference to President Uhuru Kenyatta, he noted that Echesa was fired by the same entity that hired him, which makes it justifiable.
He added that the hiring entity cannot be questioned.
"The question is why was he hired? I think the same hiring authority reserves the right to fire with or without an explanation," he said.
Echesa has been requesting to be told the reason behind his ouster, calls that have fell on deaf ears, with neither Uhuru or Ruto coming out to address the issue.
His place has since been taken by Ambassador Amina Mohammed who was moved from the Education docket which was consequently taken by George Magoha.
Before joining the ruling Jubilee Party, Echesa was a youth leader at the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
