The race for the 2022 general election continue to take center stage across the divide as politicians put in place strategies to for their favorite seats.
In Garissa for instance, sitting and former politicians are said to be eyeing various seats in the much awaited 2022 general election.
Here are Garissa politicians who lost in the 2017 general election but who stand a higher chance of making it back to active politics in 2022 election.
1. Shukran Gure
The former Garissa Women Representative lost re-election in the 2017 general election to Anab Subow of Jubilee Party.
The Wiper Party politician has been quoted saying that she will make a return in 2022 to complete the projects she had started.
2. Nathif Jama
The former Garissa Governor lost re-election to Ali Bunow Korane of Jubilee Party.
A close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Jama could bid to recapture the seat in the upcoming 2022 general election.
Jama has however not made it public on whether he will be contesting the seat in 2022 election.
3. Abdikadir Aden
The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party politician lost re-election in 2017 election to Osman Shurie of Jubilee Party.
After his defeat, Abdikadir was nominated by ODM to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Abdikadir is likely to make a comeback into elective seats in the 2022 general election.
3. Farah Maalim
The former Lagdera MP lost bid for the Garissa Township seat in 2017 election.
Maalim who has remained vocal on issues facing the country is likely to make another attempt into active politics in 2022 election.
It is a matter of time before we know on whether these politicians will make a comeback into active politics.
