The 3pm attack left scores injured and several other people feared dead after at least four gunmen entered Riverside Complex and started shooting aimlessly.

In a statement, Joho said:

"I join hands with all Kenyans of goodwill to condemn the cowardly attack on innocent people at Dusit Hotel complex in Nairobi.

I wish those who have been injured a speedy recovery and my sympathies to families that may have lost their loved ones. I commend our security forces for the swift response to rescue those who were trapped in the building.

I also echo calls by the Government to Kenyans to refrain from sharing information or clips of terror attacks, past and the current one as doing so would be glorifying the work of terrorists."

Injured persons were admitted to various hospitals as multi-agency security team comprising of the Kenya Army, Kenya Police, Recce Squad and GSU officers were deployed to rescue hostages and neutralise the attackers.
