The first-time county boss offered residents free medical services in the memory of his late father Kioko Kivanguli. The governor asked the residents to turn for a free check for different chronic diseases.

Mr Larry Wambua, a resident of Mua who is also the Environment Executive in Nairobi County, rubbished claims that the governor was using resources meant for Nairobi county to offer services.

He, instead, said that it was the governor’s personal incentive to offer the residents the said services.

During the ceremony, Sonko maintained that he will not relocate from his Mua Hill Home despite calls from different sides. He said that the home is located a few Kilometers from the CBD, which makes it easier for him to serve the residents.

"From Nairobi to this place (Mua Hills) is barely 25 minutes’ drive. I will not leave this place because it is my home. Even the President (Uhuru Kenyatta) operates from State House. He does not always operate from Harambee House," said Mr Sonko.

The governor also said that he will soon finalize the nomination of his deputy after the MCAs rejected deported lawyer Miguna Miguna for the post.
