Dr Mungatana Jamal, a herbal doctor in Eldoret said that the rate at which the youths are suffering from UTIs and STIs is alarming.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Saturday, the herbal doctor said he has been receiving a huge number of youths at his clinic, most of whom are  seeking treatment for various STI.

"The most common include Syphilis and Gonorrhea but the good thing is that we have natural herbs that are chemical free which we give them," noted the herbal doctor.

"Most of them come secretly without knowledge of their parents as they are afraid of revealing their status," he added.

He, however, said they have a variety of herbal medicine that can help cure any kind of STI.

"Herbal medicines have been used for decades ever since the era of our great grandparents," noted Dr. Mungatana.

Among the symptoms of STI include a strong/persistent urge to urinate, a burning sensation when urinating, urine that appears cloudy/red/bright pink, strong smelling urine and pelvic pain in women especially in the center of the pelvic and around the area of the public bone.

Dr Mungatana, however, says STIs and UTIs prevention can be done through drinking of water and eating food with a lot of water like cucumber and watermelon, emptying bladder soon after sexual intercourse as well as avoiding potentially irritating feminine products like sprays or powders in the genital area to avoid irritation in the urethra.
