This comes barely two days after Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi claimed that some leaders are looting the nation dry and sharing some in donations.

Midiwo now wants the leaders taking part in the fundraisers to disclose the source of their funds, in a bid to suspend the strong feeling that they are a product of embezzlement of public coffers.

Speaking on NTV’s AM Live early Tuesday, the former National Assembly Minority whip wondered how some people whose salaries are well known to the public could spend more times their salaries in the functions.

‘’We are not criminalising donations. We are saying you can donate but, please, let us know where your money is coming from - Jakoyo Midiwo. #AMLiveNTV @KenMijungu,’’ he said.

‘’If your salary is Sh1 million and you give Sh8 million at a function in one church and many others that day, what does that say? - Jakoyo Midiwo. #AMLiveNTV @KenMijungu,’’ he added in a separate tweet posted on the program's wall.

Speaking at the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) church in Nairobi’s Buruburu estate on Sunday, Mudavadi who has apparently 'taken over' as the opposition leader urged Kenyans to reject the loot.

This he directed to churches which are the main beneficiary of the fundraisers, in a veiled shot at Deputy President William Ruto who is known for his weekly donations.
