The two are expected to share podium on Friday at Borabu in the burial of Mama Peninah Osero, mother to veteran politician Patrick Osero who enjoys warmth relationship between the two.

And already, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, a close ally of DP Ruto, has accused ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire of undermining the DP.

"If he's going for governor, let him go. However, we cannot allow him to start undermining the DP. Let him get his own candidate and popularise him," he said.

But the remarks have since not gone down well with Mr Bosire, who accuses the DP and his team of allegedly launching ghost projects across the region.

Bosire said: "Let the truth be told. These people are moving around and are launching ghost projects. You cannot see what they have been launching. We shall never tire on telling the truth."

Mr Bosire, who announced his support to the handshake recently, is a critical player in Raila Odinga's campaigns across Gusii region and is the senior most ODM politician.

At Nyansiongo, it will be Raila's second meeting with Ruto with the two having met in Kisumu over the weekend. Both sides have confirmed attendance.
