The five-star hotel in Nairobi is believed to be owned by Deputy President William Ruto.

In a tweet on his handle, the controversial human rights activist challenge the head of state to reveal when the hotel alleged to have been build on a grabbed public land would be brought down.

"Uhuru Kenyatta tunabomoa Weston Hotel lini? (Uhuru Kenyatta when are we demolishing the Weston Hotel)?" asked Mwangi in a tweet.

Mwangi is among individuals who have been pushing for the demolition of the hotel.

The activist was once captured together with primary school kids, protesting to have back the land on which the Weston Hotel sits.

He claimed the government was protecting land grabbers.

"Mnaprotect wezi, wezi wa mashamba ya shule, (the government is protecting thieves grabbing school lands)" the activist said back in 2018 while demonstrating near the hotel.

"The land where the Weston Hotel stands belongs to Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. If Kenyatta is not being a hypocrite and if he means business, he should be ready to lose friends, including the DP, by demolishing Weston Hotel. As long as the hotel stands, it's a symbol of impunity," read part of Mwangi's earlier tweets

The DP once admitted that the land sits on illegally acquired land but insisted that he legally bought it.
