The DP is arguably standing the better chance of becoming the next President as things stand now, as no other 'serious' contender has clearly come out to say they are going to vie.

Despite being the leading contender for the top seat as things stand now, Renowned political analyst and the University of Nairobi lecturer Prof Herman Manyora, through his Youtube Channel implied the road by the DP to Presidency is not easy given that Kenyans have been made to think he is a corrupt leader.

According to Prof Manyora, DP Ruto needs to do one thing urgently if he wants to stand a better chance of becoming Kenya's fifth President come 2022 and that is to deal with the corruption perception levelled against him, as this will be a major factor Kenyans will consider in voting the next President unlike in previous elections where Kenyans did not really consider it.

"For William Samoei Ruto, my advice is this, unless you successfully fight corruption, unless you successfully fight the perception that you are the most corrupt individual in this country, you can forget about the Presidency," ProfeessorManyora opined.

The analyst further said DP Ruto needs to heed to his advice as others who he(Ruto) will be competing with for the presidency will be perceived 'not corrupt' giving them an advantage over him should he not clear his name.
