The former Kisumu Deputy Governor revealed the same during a past interview, adding that she always has a surprise for her Kisumu supporters.

She attributed her decision to take a break from elective politics and not vie for any seat in the previous 2017 elections as one of her strategies.

Ruth who is a younger sister to opposition leader Raila Odinga termed it inconsequential to her political plans, as she will always be ready to bounce back into the scene.

"I am a political animal and taking a break from elective politics does not mean the end. I will still be in Kisumu and will be concentrating on other things, but also participating actively in politics," she told the Standard in June 2017.

The latter is expected to once again vie for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat as was the case in 2013 when she lost the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket to former Governor Jackton Ranguma.

"You never know when I may bounce back to run for the governorship," she said during the interview.

Until now, she has remained silent on her plans and seems very calm and comfortable working under Governor Anyang' Nyong'o.

This was not the case between 2013 and 2017 when she was locked in a supremacy battle with Governor Ranguma.
