Nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok has hailed Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu following Wednesday’s recorded conversation between him and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
In a recorded phone conversation, Waititu's is heard pleading with Sonko to have his wife Susan Wangare released.
He goes ahead to beg the Nairobi county chief to as well release his wife’s co-accused, 14 others who were arrested in line with an illegal construction in the city.
But speaking on Radio Jambo on Wednesday, Sankok hailed Waititu for pushing for the release of the others, terming him a caring leader, committed to the well being of common citizens.
‘’Waititu alifanya vizuri kutetea watu wote na sio mkewe pekee . Yeye ni mtetezi wa wananchi (that demonstrated that he is interested In the well being of everyone),’’ said Sankok.
He, however, hit out at Governor Sonko for engaging in the negotiation, saying that he contravened the law by assuming the role of judges and magistrates.
Susan was later charged and released on a Ksh80, 000 shillings after pleading innocent.
