A section of women from the Gusii community have protested the decision by the High court Judge Jesse Lessit to release Migori County Governor Zachary Okoth Obado on bail.
They claimed that the murder case facing the ODM governor will go nowhere following the release of the governor, who was adversely mentioned in the brutal murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno.
"Justice will not be served to the deceased family because Obado is out on bail. We expected him to continue languishing in prison until the murder case is heard and determined," said Rachael Otundo, a local politician.
Martha Mokora condemned Judge Lessit for releasing Obado on bail.
"The Judge has turned to be a disgrace to women. How could she release Obado who aided the brutal killing of a lady who had a bright future? Sharon's family should stop going to court to pursue the case because already justice has been defeated following the release of Governor Obado," she noted.
Jemimah Nyanchama said Obado will not know peace in his life.
"Obado won't live in peace even if he was released. The blood of Sharon and her unborn baby will haunt him," said Jemimah Nyanchama.
The judge however issued stringent rules among them not visiting Homa Bay County that Obado will have to adhere to.
