Garissa women representative Anab Sunow Gure on Tuesday visited the volatile Modogashe to assess the security situation.
Modogashe has witnessed a spate of inter-clan clashes that erupted on Friday night.
In a statement, Gure condemned the clashes that have witnessed massive destruction of property worth millions.
"I visited the scene and witnessed the amount of destruction of property meted on innocent people from my county. I later condoled with families of those who lost lives in the clashes," read the statement in part.
Gure further cautioned politicians from the warring Aulian and Borana against inciting locals into retaliatory attacks.
"The leaders from the two warring communities should not use the situation to gain political mileage by inciting their community against each other," added Gure.
The Garissa-Isiolo border clashes have been recurring over the years, with water points and grazing land being the major trigger.
For the better part of Sunday and Monday, Modogashe residents engaged anti-riot police in running battles to protest over the raging violence.
As of Tuesday, March 26, two people had been confirmed dead with tens of others sustaining body injuries.
Garissa Governor Ali Korane has also visited the area and pledged to foster peace between the two rival communities
