Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Cheruyoit said that the BBI report is all about politics and nothing else. He argued that politicians have since hijacked the entire process following its launch by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga.

The vocal senator lamented that it is evident that nothing much will come from the report at the end of the day. He alluded that he has taken time and read the report several times but he cannot see anything that it will change about the country upon its implementation. The lawmaker argued that a section of leaders wants to use the report for their political gain.

"If we are honest and sincere the BBI is all about politics. There is no magic in the BBI, I have read it front to back and back to front I cannot see anything that will radically change this country, “he said.

Cheruiyot is perceived as a strong ally of Deputy President William Ruto. Ruto’s camp was rooting for the implementation of the report through parliament and other levels of government before changing the tune.

The second in command now wants the report implemented faster to pave way for President Uhuru Kenyatta to complete the projects he had started after he was re-elected into office.
