A close ally of Deputy President William Ruto was forced to cut short his speech on Friday at Miriri region during the burial of a top county assembly official.

Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose struggled to address mourners who turned chaotic during the burial of Mr Enock Omwenga, who died in a road accident three weeks ago.

Trouble started when Mr Mose was speaking as chaotic mourners compelled him to prevail upon a brother to the deceased who is said to have hidden burial permit.

As Mose continued with the speech, angry mourners surged forward forcing him to momentarily cut short his speech in one of the most dramatic turn out of event.

Rival teams tussled against each other as the MP watched in disbelief. A section of mouners were demanding that the deceased brother to surrender the burial permit to the widow.

The burial permit is used by the deceased's family to process a death certificate which will allow immediate beneficiaries to access benefits from government.

Mr Mose was thrown to a situation where he tried to bargain with the family with no solution at all. Moments later, he was forced to move out of the funeral as locals struggled to get the burial permit.

Earlier, two politician opposed to Mr Mose were forced out of the funeral by armed goons who threatened to harm them. The two; Vincent Omao and Hillary Abuya, have since blamed the MP for their unfortunate adventure.
