Roba says that allegations of graft against him are mere political schemes by his competitors.

Speaking to journalists in Mandera Town on Friday, Roba accused his rivals of plotting his downfall.

The Jubilee governor, however, said that he will not fall to political malice.

"It is shameful that some people are creating malicious allegations to taint my leadership and administration," he said.

Roba defended his administration, dismissing allegations of graft being levelled against him.

The governor asked residents to ignore the alleged propaganda being fueled against him and the county government.

A Mandera resident has moved to court seeking to institute a private prosecution against the governor.

Mr Simba Hasheem wants Roba probed and investigated over alleged abuse of office and mismanagement of public funds.

He is accusing Governor Roba of allegedy hiring an ambulance from the Kenya Red Cross at a cost of Sh40 Million.

Hasheem is also accusing the Jubilee governor of fraudulently procuring armoured vehicles at a cost of 16 Million.

The matter before Milimani Anti-Corruption Court will be mentioned next month.
