This is after reports that the Treasury CS dismissed a call by Parliment on Friday to suspend imposition of 16 percent VAT on all petroleum products for the next two years.

Rotich is said to have remained adamant saying the move by the government will go as planned beginning Saturday, September 1.

The former lawmaker said Rotich is not fit to serve in a public office because he has disrespected MPs.

"MPs should do away with Rotich by impeaching him. Rotich must learn to respect the MPs decision to suspend the 16% VAT on petroleum products. NASA and Jubilee MPs should team up to remove the lazy Cabinet Secretary from office," he said in Keroka on Friday.

Momanyi called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to be ready to appoint a different person to replace Rotich who has failed to manage the finance department in the country.

The ex-lawmaker argued that the 16 percent VAT on fuel will affect many households that still depend on kerosene besides many other Kenyans who use public and private transport to commute to work.

"A new person ready to manage the country's finance department should be given the opportunity to serve Kenyans and not Rotich who has been linked to graft," he added.
