It was joy and happiness to residents of Modogashe in Lagdera Constituency after they received relief food from the national government.
The exercise was presided over by Garissa Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure where tens of the locals benefited.
Speaking during the exercise on Tuesday, Gure challenged residents to maintain peace, live in harmony and forget about the conflicts between them and their Isiolo neighbours.
The area has been facing insecurity challenges due to conflicts that result from the pastoral communities from the two counties fighting over pasture and water for their livestock.
"The most important thing is peace. Let us live in harmony and maintain peace," she said.
The Woman Rep further thanked the national government led by the President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for supporting Garissa County especially areas affected by drought and internal conflicts.
About 13 counties have been hit by the current wave of drought and the government has been distributing relief food to the affected Kenyans.
