National Police Service has advised Nairobi residents to avoid a number of major roads from 3pm on Wednesday.
Through its social media pages, NPS informed the traffic users to keep off various roads including Haile Selassie, Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Limuru Road.
There will be traffic interruption as different heads of state jet into the country to attend UN Assembly in Gigiri. The plan has been reached to ease traffic in the Central Business District.
“We wish to inform the public that owing to the presence of several Heads of State and Governments visiting the country to attend the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) as well as the 3rd One Planet Assembly at UN Complex in Gigiri from 13th to 15th March 2019… Traffic arrangements have been made that could impact on normal traffic flow in the city,” the announcement read in part.
French President Emmanuel Macron is among the Heads from different states who are expected into the country.
"President @UKenyatta will this afternoon host his French counterpart H.E. @EmmanuelMacron at State House, Nairobi. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries have registered tremendous growth over the years in the economic and political spheres | #KenyaFranceRelations,” tweeted Statehouse.
The police have also advised traffic users to obey traffic laws and regulations.
