Speaking on Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday night, Mbadi faulted the DP for dragging politics into the fake Gold scandal.

“The Deputy President is the one who has been politicising all the investigative matters in this country. Before he spoke about this investigation on gold, we had left it to the investigative arms. He is the one who went to a public function accusing people. He also started politicising Arror and Kimwarer dam scandals.” Mbadi said during the interview which he appeared alongside Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei,

A group of fraudulent gold dealers have been accused of selling fake gold worth Sh400 million to United Arab Emirates ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-makhtoum.

FORD-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has been implicated in the scandal as Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continue with the investigations in the case.

Ruto and his allies on their part have linked the opposition led by ODM party leader Raila Odinga where Senator Wetangula is one of its principal with fake gold business, sparking a fierce debate across both political divides.
