Through his son Gideon Moi, the octogenarian said he'd want to 'personally condole' with Kalonzo over the death of his father.

“On my own behalf, my family and the people of Baringo and mostly importantly on behalf of Mzee, I have come to condole with you and your family at this trying moment,” the senator, who was accompanied by his Kitui colleague, Enoch Wambua, and Tiaty MP William Kamket, said.

Gideon added: “Mzee has sent me to request you to come and visit him after you bury your father so that he can personally condoles with you.”

Mr Musyoka was appointed to cabinet by Moi during his youthful days when serving as Mwingi MP, a position he held until Moi's retirement in 2002.

Later, Kalonzo quit Kanu for Liberal Democratic Party, which had been formed by Raila Odinga in protest against Moi's decision to handpick Uhuru as his successor.

While accepting the invitation, Kalonzo said he'd personally jet to Kabarak to meet the retired president.

“I am humbled that you have come to be with us. Tell Mzee that I together with my family will come after we bury my father. This is an opportunity that is long overdue and we will honour it by visiting Mzee,” Kalonzo said. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001301201/kalonzo-to-visit-moi-in-kabarak.

Moi has hosted top dignitaries at his Kabarak home with political pundits claiming that he could be pushing to have his son Gideon ascend to power.

In April, Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Musyoka visited the ailing octogenarian. But DP William Ruto's efforts to gain access in Kabarak backfired with his handlers blaming Gideon.
