Maribe has been dragged into the murder after her lover Joseph Irungu was arrested as a key suspect in the murder.

Police said Irungu was the last person seen leaving Kimani’s house at the posh Kilimani apartments.

According to investigators, Irungu left the apartment at 2.24 am on Thursday, September 20.

Monica’s family came checking on her the same day at 1 pm. They broke into the house and found her dead body in the bathtub.

Those privy to investigations said the suspect left the apartment in a white Toyota Allion. The car is registered in Jacque Maribe’s name.

There are also questions on the journalist to answer after police said the statement she made on circumstances surrounding how her lover was ‘shot’ on Friday morning contradicts what police have gathered.

Maribe and Irungu had claimed he was shot while in the house. They then changed and said he was shot outside the gate.

Residents have, however, told police they never heard any gunshots. Not even guards at the gate!

Our mole at Citizen TV said the newsreader did not show up at work on Wednesday.

“She did not come today. There are rumours that police are waylaying her at the gate to pounce,” the source, who cannot be named, said.
