In a one-on-one interview with a local television channel on Sunday, the DPP said that his stand on graft and several murder cases have posed him a real threat and that of his immediate family members.

He said a number of his close relatives have in the past been receiving threats in a bid to silence him over his active role in fighting social ills.

"I have been threatened. My close relatives have been threatened too in the past, but I will not relent in my duties. I have the trust of Kenyans and my God is fighting for me," DPP Haji stated.

Asked who the real threats were, Haji named Al-Shabaab and a section of high profile politicians in mega multi-billion scandals.

He, however, declined to name the specific real individuals stating that he is never afraid of them.
