Kalonzo said Raila deserves the appointment and that he should use it to spearhead Africa’s infrastructural development.

According to Kalonzo, Raila’s appointment will go a long way in putting Kenya and Africa on the global map.

“I am happy for my brother Raila and I congratulate him for the deserving appointment,” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper leader spoke when he visited Daima Primary school at Huruma in Nairobi on Tuesday.

Kalonzo urged Kenyans to back the former Prime Minister in his new role.

He said the country is on a global map in terms of pushing for socio-economic development.

Raila was appointed last week and his appointment confirmed by AU chairman Moussa Faki.

The former Prime Minister has since accepted the appointment as politicians across the divide continue to wish him well.

Raila’s allies have, however, made it clear that the opposition leader will remain politically active.

On Monday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna hit out at politicians asking Raila to quit politics.
