Keroka OCPD Walter Apondo confirmed the arrest of the three suspects on Saturday evening, identifying the deceased as James Omoke.

Apondo said the suspects Ezekiel Ombaye, Felix Getuba and Bosire Magati allegedlykilled Omoke on the 16th day of September 2019 at Geteni village in Kebirichi, Masaba North in Nyamira County.

"Ombaye, one of the suspects was found in possession of the deceased's mobile phone. The suspects have been taking police officers in cycles until they were nabbed by detectives following a tip-off from members of the public," said Apondo.

Apondo reiterated that the suspects will be taken to court to be charged over murder saying detectives are interrogating them to gather more details.

He urged the deceased's family members and residents to be calm and provide information to police for more suspects to be arrested.

"It is not clear why the suspects decided to murder Omoke but, the matter is with us for more investigations. A detailed investigation report will be issued once probe is complete. We can not leave anything to chance," he added.
