What you eat determines what you excrete. This makes it very important to check what you eat. In case you consume excess meat, you are likely to have an edgy smell in your stool. 

Junkie food is another option you should avoid. They have excess fats and most people lack the enzymes to fully digest fats leading to bad-smelling deposits open your toilet.

Faulty p-trap

There is a U-shaped pipe that acts as a seal against bad smell coming from the sewerage line into your home. 

The pipe contains some water that cuts off the sewage smell. However, frequent use or a leakage can make your toilet smelly. Perform regular checks to make sure the U-shaped section has the water seal.

Infected water

If you get a Sulphur or egg-like smell in your toilet, your water is infected with bacteria. You should try to check the exact source of the contaminated water in your house.
