Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha is walking a tightrope after the Labour Court revoked another university appointment.
The court has now blocked the appointment of Prof Anne Nangulu as the principal of Bomet University College.
The decision comes after the High Court blocked Magoha from swapping Masinde Muliro University council chairman with that of Pwani University.
The court also revoked the appointment of Prof George Otieno (Deputy Principal Academic and Students Affairs) and Prof Loice Maru (Deputy Principal – Administration and Finance) hence deepening the woes of the CS as he seeks to transform the education sector.
The trio had been appointed on September 20 before the shocker by the court.
The decision of the court to reverse the appointment was reached after petitioner Julius Singoei challenged the appointments.
He argued that the CS failed to follow the right procedures as far as appointments are concerned thereby rendering the whole process null and void.
“For avoidance of doubts, the first, second and third respondents are hereby restrained from carrying out their functions as appointed pending the hearing and determination of the petition herein,” ordered Justice Nelson Abuodha.
Magoha is now expected to go back to the drawing board to ensure that learning is not paralysed in the institutions in question over leadership wrangles.
