A section of Kenyans now believe that outgoing Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Eshesa's woes and his sack on Friday was going to come sooner or later.
This comes barely three months after he was 'cursed' by Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
Speaking in Lugari on January 5, during the burial of area MP Ayub Savula's daughter, Atwoli tore into the youthful former CS and cursed him for being unappreciative.
Atwoli said that Echesa will never know peace for disrespecting the people that helped him when he had nothing.
“If he (Echesa) ever benefited from my hard-earned cash, let him know no peace in his entire life,” Atwoli was quoted by the Standard.
He narrated how Echesa frequented his home of financial help, taking issue with his (Echesa) claims that Atwoli's wife begged him for financial assistance.
"It is a shame that the young man (Echesa) went public about my family issues. I regard him as a son and he should have known better not to tell people how my (estranged) wife would nag him for financial support,” added the trade unionist.
According to Elkana Chikamayi of Shinyalu, Kakamega, anything was bound to happen to Echesa after the curse.
"When a man who is old enough to be your father or grandfather curses you, anything bad can happen," he said.
Echesa was also once heard daring opposition leader and his former boss Raila Odinga to sack him if he is indeed the appointing authority in Kenya.
His position was taken over by Amina Mohammed whose former Education docket went to Proff George Magoha.
