Cracks within Jubilee party intensified on Saturday after an irked Deputy President William Ruto dismissed claims that he has been loitering across the country.
Last month, a visibly angry President Uhuru Kenyatta seemed to be hit at Ruto's continued tours across the country and even coining the term 'Tanga Tanga' in reference to aimless loitering.
"And my boy Ruto will be loitering around here every weekend. When you see him just furnish him with any of your problem," he had said.
But initially, Uhurui had warned Jubilee members engaging in Ruto's early campaigns on ground that they would sabotage service delivery.
And at Kwale on Saturday, Ruto insisted that his work entails moving across the country to 'plan' development with people.
"Let nobody ask me why I have come to Vanga or anywhere else. This is my job and I was elected to do it. This is Deputy President's task.
"I am not a chef or watchman neither do I sell meat or charcoal. My work is planning development."
A section of MPs from Mt. Kenya have openly questioned Ruto's continued campaigns across the country warning that they will sabotage Uhuru's legacy.
Also among those questioning Ruto's development cum political tours across the country include ODM leader Raila Odinga.
