Two middle-aged men from Kerina area, Kisii South Sub-County have left villagers in shock after they exchanged blows over a widow.
According to those who witnessed the fight, the duo met at the widow’s house on Friday evening and engaged in a quarrel after both of them claimed they have been dating the woman for a while now.
The chaos erupted after the men met at the widow's house and failed to agree on who should date the woman, leading into a furious fight between the two.
“The two men were not aware that they had been dating the same the woman. They met at her house and started quarrelling before exchanging blows. The woman, however, fled from the scene after the fight broke out. It took the intervention of Nyumba Kumi officials to calm them down,” said Ezekiel Mokaya, a Nyumba Kumi official.
Mokaya, however, urged both of them to ensure that they agree on who will date the woman, adding that village elders will soon call for a meeting to allow the widow to give her side of the story.
“The widow went into hiding on Friday evening upon realising that she had been cornered by the two men she has been dating. We will ensure we find a solution as soon as she returns to her home,” said Mokaya.
