A middle-aged man Thursday stunned Nairobians after climbing and chaining himself to the iconic Tom Mboya statue at the city centre along Moi Avenue.
The man, in messages written on yellow and green manilla papers, claims that he suffered an electric shock at Jubilee House and pleads with members of the public to send him money so that he can undergo surgery.
Stunned onlookers milled around the spectacle, consternation and amusement written on their faces.
In his manilla messages, the man also calls for the president's intervention.
This is not the first time that Kenyans have been treated to such a spectacle.
Some time back, a man claiming to be a relative of Dedan Kimathi chained himself to the liberation leader's statue along Kimathi street, decrying abandonment by the government.
