A detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations is cooling heels behind bars after he clashed with the OCS Kehancha police station.
The incident took place during the Easter holiday.
According to a police report, the suspect was insulting two women after they rejected his overtures when the OCS intervened.
He, however, turned wild at the OCS telling him off.
He reportedly threatened him that he would ensure he is transferred from Kehancha as he (the suspect) was well connected.
“He abused the OCS of being a fool and there was nothing that he could do to him. He even threatened of being able to initiate transfer of the Ocs at once,” an OB report filed at the station said.
The suspect, identified as Francis Gichogo Mwita, was arrested on Monday when he it was established that he is a detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi.
He will be charged in court for being drunk and disorderly.
There have been increased reports of DCI officers clashing with other police units.
Recently, a detective attached to the DCI was arrested by police along Namanga-Nairobi highway after he impounded a truck suspected of transporting illegal ethanol.
