Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has advised young couples against extra-marital affairs.
Duale while attending Nikkah ceremony for Mohamed Ali warnle and Nasra Mohamed in Garissa on Saturday, asked young couples to be true to their marriage.
He said that cases of young people engaging in extra-marital affairs sometimes leading to mysterious murder cases.
The MP said that religion advocates for faithfulness on the bride and the groom, adding that marital conflicts will reduce if spouses remain faithful to each other.
“My message to young couples whether Islam, Christian or any other religion is to be true to their vows,” he said.
The Jubilee MP also asked young couples to seek advice from counselors whenever they are experiencing marital problems.
Cases of extra-marital affairs are common especially among young couples.
Such cases commonly known as ‘mpango wa kandos’ have sometimes led to mysterious deaths among people involved.
Marriage counselor Jennifer Mburu says that lack of trust, desire for material things and technological influence are some of the reasons for rise in extramarital affairs among young couples.
