Speaking on Radio Maisha early Thursday, the vocal parliamentarian noted that she will not defend her seat in the much anticipated race.

She also stated that she will as well not vie for a lower seat but will instead seek to elevate her political placement, a declaration that points at the gubernatorial seat.

‘’Hakuna kustaaafu kutoka katika siasa na pia hakuna kurudia kiti nilicho nacho sasa hivi (I will neither retire nor seek to defend my current seat),’’ she said.

She, however, refused to openly declare her preferred seat, noting that she is still consulting with the people on the capacity in which they want her to serve in 2022.

‘’Wakati wa siasa bado. Bado tunaongea na wananchi ili tuelewane (it’s not time for politicking yet, I am still deliberating with my people on what is to be done next),’’ she added.

About opposition leader Raila Odinga’s 2022 plans, Wanga said that the former Prime Minister is currently more concentrated on the Building Bridges Initiative he co-leads with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

‘’Bado anaunda madaraja ili wote tuweze kufika Canaan (he is currently concentrated on bettering the nation before making any political declarations),’’ said Wanga.
