Kenyans on social media have reacted differently following a complaint from Deputy President William Ruto that four Cabinet Secretaries from Mt Kenya region are planning to harm or kill him.
This is after Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya revealed that DP Ruto made a call to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over the alleged plot.
CS Munya and his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru, Health CS Sicily Kariuki and Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia were summoned to record statements over the accusations.
Speaking at the DCI Headquarters in Kiambu on Monday morning, Munya said the officers confirmed that it was DP Ruto who claimed that the CSs were holding meetings to plot against him.
“The officers have confirmed to us that the DP made a call and complained that some CSs and other senior government officials have been meeting at Lamada Hotel and specifically on 14 May, to plan how to kill him,” said Munya in a video shared by Citizen Digital.
Munya, however, confirmed that he together with other leaders from the region have been holding meetings on matter development and not the alleged plot.
Kenyans on social media who reacted to the allegations argued that the cracks in Jubilee are starting to show while others termed the reports as a plot for Ruto to seek sympathy from Kenyans.
