Kisumu Central NG-CDF Chairman Sammy Nyawanda has refuted claims that he closed the offices indefinitely due to unknown reasons.
This comes at a moment when claims of the closure of the offices were raised by a Facebook user identified as Charles Osako Jnr, who alleged that the chairman was running the office as if it was his own bookshop.
“Kisumu Central NG-CDF offices has been closed indefinitely by CDF Chairman Sammy Nyawanda. Constituents need government services government offices shouldn't be personalized. Sammy Nyawanda is running CDF offices as if that is his bookshop. Recall clause is needed in this great city,” posted Charles Osako Jnr.
He attributed the rumours to a motive by the MP's political rivals to paint him in a bad light since they were doing a great job as the CDF team.
“The rumours are being spread by our political opponents,” he said when contacted by Hivisasa about the alleged closure of the offices.
“Even right now we are at the Kisumu Day High School admitting a student who did well in KCPE exams but lacked school fees. He had been taken to Kibuye to do carpentry because of lack of School fees,” said the Chairman.
A spot check by Hivisasa revealed that the CDF offices in Kisumu’s Tom Mboya Estate were open with normal activities going on.
Kisumu Central Member of Parliament is Fred Odhiambo Ouda has been launching CDF projects in his constituency, among them a scholarship programme under "The Honourable Fred Ouda Foundation" in which forty students last month benefited from and were able to join secondary schools.
