Firebrand Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria will on May 24 return to Nyanza, 10 months after making a famous trip to Kisumu City.
On his Facebook page, Mr Kuria, previously a critic of Luo Nyanza leadership, revealed that he's the chief guest at Fr Tillen Secondary School in Suba North, where he will be hosted by Millie Odhiambo.
Prior to the 2017 polls, Kuria and Ms Odhiambo had nasty exchanges in parliament, with the latter claiming that Kuria had attempted to undress her. They had differed on controversial amendments to the security bill.
Speaking in Kisumu in July, last year, Kuria emphasised on the need to support the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, adding that it had brought stability in the country.
“Only a stupid man can criticise the newfound peace that we are currently enjoying as a result of the handshake,” said the MP.
“I am spreading the handshake gospel and I believe we all have a role to play to ensure that we use this to spur development,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.
During the trip, he also vowed to continue supporting Gor Mahia football club, whose roots are traced in Nyanza. Since then, he has often been seen attending various games when the team is playing.
“I will continue with building bridges and I will host youths from Kisumu in Gatundu and also Gor Mahia fans,” said Kuria.
At some point, Kuria was accused of igniting ethnic tension between communities from Central Kenya and Nyanza.
However, since the historic handshake, Kuria has not found himself on the wrong side of the law over claims of making inciting remarks.
