Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi has lauded Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris after her public clash with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday.
The two engaged in a verbal exchange during the commemoration of Madaraka Day celebrations in the county, after which Passaris walked out in protest.
In a tweet on Sunday, Atandi hailed the Woman Rep for her leadership principles and toughness, observing that she made it clear that she cannot be manipulated.
According to Atandi, Passaris took a solid stand against Sonko's poor leadership method, demonstrating her tenacity.
"That the Nairobi County Woman Rep Esther Passaris is a solid, tough and principled leader is no longer in doubt. Taking on Sonko and his weird ways of leadership sent a powerful message of her tenacity," he wrote.
Things took the wrong turn after Passaris took to the podium to question Sonko's government's expenditures, adding that the governor has been ignoring her calls.
When his turn came, Sonko said that he is always busy and cannot respond to all calls, remarks that saw Passaris walk out, passing right in front of him.
Both Atandi and Passaris hail from the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
